Rapid discovery brings awareness to energetically draining influences in your personal field. You recognize it, now what? Rapid recovery calls for strategies that bring you back to a positive energy state of mind.
Focus Above The Line Pull out your Clarity chart and concentrate on any words that fit the bill. If you notice doubt is hanging out and draining your resolve, then focus on faith, possibility, or even just the word yes. Billboards work, so why not make your own? Write a helpful word on a sticky note and post it where you will frequently see it.
Sacred Selfishness Whatever brings rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation move straight to the top of your to-do list, especially when it means collecting yourself back from lower energies taking focus away from your vision and journey map.
Practice Lights-On Activities What brings you joy? Running, a trip to the mountains, playing with your dog or kids? Get lost in a lights-on activity and feel yourself fill back up with helpful, supportive personal energy.
Invite in Mind Relaxation Explore options that bring a grounded and centered existence to daily activities. Yoga, meditation, tai-chi, quilting, knitting, and even cooking can offer respite while calming the mind and body.

Rapid discovery happens upon recognition of energy that brings you down or drains you. The sooner you realize lower energies working within your field, the more rapid the discovery. Observation of personal feelings, thoughts, and emotions brings about awareness. A honed self-observation system brings about great awareness and therefore more affective rapid discovery. Pay attention to the following cues when discovering those draining energies.
Monkey Mind If your mind generates thought after thought containing only fear, worries, doubt, and jitters, you have monkey mind. It’s a tell tale sign of drainage working in your field.
Shadow Behavior When you notice yourself falling below the line in your thoughts, actions, and feelings, your shadow is peeking out. Shadow behavior drains you from accelerating and flowing easily down the river towards your vision.
Lights-Off Not feeling the enthusiasm? Your lights have gone out and likely, you’re drained. Point your awareness towards when and where your lights went out and you’ve mastered rapid discovery.

Little reminders are always helpful. We would like to remind you to pay attention to energies in your life that both drain and uplift. With awareness towards these visitors, you can shift your focus and hone in on only that which supports your vision and goals.
Draining
-criticism -fear
-doubt -worry
-judgment
Energizing
-amusement -enthusiasm
-kindness -confidence
-certainty -supportive words
As your focus moves in the direction of energizing thoughts, behaviors, and feelings, you still have to contend with others in your near field that may project more of a draining effect. It’s important to take time for yourself each day so you may recharge your own battery with energizing awareness. Glance at your vision board, repeat your mantra, and/or imagine what reaching the end of your river feels like. Look at Clarity’s Above the Line chart to soak up energizing words. Do what it takes to be energized rather than drained.

“Stay curious,” Gary often says during the Get Clarity for Life and Work Retreat. Curiosity is another means of staying present, focused, and observant of what is going on both around and within you. Taking notice helps you gauge where you fit within your surroundings, which are always energy exchanges. Central to everything is how your personal energy is reflected during every exchange. Your personal energy meter is a mental reference point fueled by sensations in your body. It tells you whether your energy is energized, neutral, or drained. Ideally, you will feel energized, but when situations are draining, the quicker you can take notice and move beyond, the better it serves your overall purpose and vision.
When it was time to update the Get Clarity process with a new book, we felt it in our personal energy field. We were enlivened and uplifted by all of the new additions we knew would enhance the reader’s experience with Clarity. The idea was validated and enforced through the feedback we received in the outer energy fields. Our clients were excited that we were publishing “Get Clarity 3.0”. Our editor loved the book. The feedback from our advisor team was very encouraging. Support and enthusiasm permeated so much of our world that writing Get Clarity, The Lights-On Guide to Manifesting Success in Life and Work was more an energetic flow than hard work. It was an expansion of our life purpose, which also happens to be our passion. Our energetic meters read “energized” and the newest book jelled.
The whole purpose of Get Clarity for Life and Work is empowerment to live an energized, lights-on life. Using a mental energy meter will help your awareness of what supports your vision and what takes away from it.

Lifetimes of teachers and sages have done their best to bestow certain truths upon humanity. Ernest Holmes said it well when he noticed, “Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it.” Every interaction you have both leaves some of your information behind and takes some new information in. As you change and shift throughout lifetime of interactions, your thoughts about yourself and the world change and shift. Your personal energy field will attract unique ideas and experiences to match your thoughts. We call this feedback in their new book, Get Clarity: The Lights-On Guide to Manifesting Success in Life and Work.
Feedback helps explain why above the line words, thoughts, and deeds are so important to keep in mind as we flow down the river to our vision. And helps remind us why keeping positive thoughts about our business and life endeavors rather than negative is paramount.
Gauge the feedback cycle in your life, when you want to know if experiences are inline with your intention. Ask yourself, then observe for the following information:
Is Acceleration Present? If life keeps handing you exactly what you need when you need it, you’re functioning above the line and maintaining an enthusiastic personal field. If you find eddy and blocks, look for the leak or hole these experiences are getting in on.
Am I Clear in My Vision and Passion? Does your vision board match your thoughts or do your thoughts about the vision change and morph a lot? There’s a difference between evolving the vision and being wishy-washy with uncertainty. Look closely and notice where you fit. Ideally, your thoughts and actions will match that which you’ve outlined on your vision board.
Do I Envision the Best and Most Successful Outcome? When you daydream about the future at journey’s end, do you see yourself wrapped in success with a smile on your satisfied face? We hope so. Eliminate worry and fear from your mind – only allow yourself to see the fabulous outcome you know you deserve.

Excerpt from Get Clarity “ Most of our formal education and training fails to address the issue of change, and few of us learn enough about deep change to be comfortable with it. And today, transition, transformation, and change are occurring more rapidly than at any other time in history. This acceleration makes it imperative to learn new skills for rapidly redesigning your guiding vision and the strategy to achieve it as you are faced with choice points.”
Let’s take a moment for a quick quiz. What is the ultimate goal of Clarity’s flowing river?
a. to get stuck in an eddy
b. to sun bathe on the river’s beach
c. to find Gary’s missing hair
d. to get to the end of the Clarity River
Although we suspect Gary’s hair fell into an eddy, your memory likely helped you identify D as the correct answer. The goal of Get Clarity is to find your vision realized at river’s end. All rivers are individually tailored and vary likewise. Some clients find themselves completing the journey right after beginning. Others meander down the scenic route thoroughly taking their time. Although clients travel at different speeds, there is no speed limit. In fact, acceleration is encouraged. Acceleration is the rate at which the river’s completion shows up. Put another way, acceleration brings your vision to fruition sooner. Meandering is enjoyable, but generally our entrepreneurial and visionary clients want to reach their goals fast. With an easily flowing river in mind, let’s explore acceleration. But let’s do it by looking at a different journey. Forgo the personal Clarity river for a moment. In lieu of water, go back in history to mountains where pioneers traveled westward in their conestogas.
Let’s look at acceleration in two ways; releasing and inviting. The rate at which your vision becomes your reality depends upon the approach. Releasing is all about letting go of old ideas and inviting brings in that which supports and assists our vision. Pioneers starting their journey to the west coast looked forward to a new life with new opportunities. Yet, they packed their conestogas with remnants from their old life. Grand pianos, stoves, heavy furniture, and trunks filled full headed out with these pioneer families. Right around the Rocky Mountains, if not before, the westward visionaries realized these heavy reminders of days old were actually slowing progress and stalling movement. It was not uncommon to see discarded items alongside the trail. Pioneers released old ideas in order to accelerate towards their new idea – a new life.
Travelers on the trail eventually learned to invite in help from the natives. Native Americans were exotic and dangerous to early Americans. Their seemingly primitive dress and culture frightened many. However, they were highly adept and extremely knowledgeable about the land. By inviting in and accepting help from skilled Native Americans, pioneers gained invaluable knowledge about the land and best routes to travel. Although still a challenge, the travelers gained better insight and easier conditions.
The Clarity journey requires a boat rather than conestoga, but the similarities are plentiful. What heavy baggage are you ready to throw overboard? Which old ideas are you ready to let go of? Which offers of assistance are you ready to accept and invite in?
Reflection of the journey’s progress is just as important to reaching the end as the water you float on. It’s why Gary and Cathy offer so many coaching sessions after the Get Clarity. Supportive coaching encourages refection and therefore acceleration.

In our new book Get Clarity The Lights-On Guide to Manifesting Success in Life and Work we discuss the story of Carl. Carl is a good example of how resistance can impede growth and slow down reaching the end goal. Noticing resistance immediately can help you bypass hurdles in your journey on the Clarity river.
Carl wanted to expand into two new markets. Every time he moved the projects forward, blocks popped up. Retail location compromises, hiring inadequacies, unenthusiastic community, and sleepless nights were huge parts of this process, yet Carl went through with establishing the two new franchises. He let his business trained monkey mind overrule the resistance that was so apparent. Unfortunately, both of Carl’s franchises continued to struggle and he sold them at a huge loss a year later.
When an action is not meant to be, there are definite signs. Recognizing resistance right away will ultimately assist acceleration. When acceleration is activated and running smoothly, everything runs smoothly.

Acceleration towards a successful vision can benefit from the art of release. The ability to let go of old ideas, beliefs, and patterns is immensely helpful to attaining your vision faster. Although these ideas may have been helpful to us at one time, it’s good to take inventory and realize when they’re outdated. Sometimes it’s just hard to do though. Find an artful way to release by considering the following.
Awareness of Change Even if you haven’t acknowledged or identified old belief systems hindering your acceleration, you can invite in awareness. Set your intention to be open and receptive to new ideas, then look for synchronicity to bring them to you.
Fire It Up Archaic as it sounds, burning written word really does transform. Write a statement of release or intention to change, read it through a few times, then introduce it to flame over a campfire, fireplace, or somewhere safe. Even if only through symbolism, the fire feels transformative and you’ll feel a shift.
Coaching Business and personal coaches’ jobs are to encourage progression and help you see situations through a different perspective. Bring a coach on board to help you both see and work through what holds you back. Be honest about your intention to release that which prevents progress.

Intellectually, we know the river’s journey and see what’s ahead, yet sometimes the acceleration pedal gets stuck. Even with Clarity enthusiasm pulsating through our veins, we can fall into an eddy and feel like nothing is going right. Our newest book endeavor, Get Clarity; The Lights-On Guide to Manifesting Success in Life and Work, highlights Clarity in action; personal stories from actual clients living their vision while using Get Clarity strategies. Virginia is one such client who found acceleration and rode the wave into success.
Virginia’s acceleration ride began shortly after her lights turned on for Pilates. Soon after her first Pilates session, Virginia realized it was her calling. She made a plan to leave the corporate world and open her own studio after obtaining her instructor certification. Today, she successful runs her business filled with like-minded lovers of Pilates.
Virginia kept her eye on the vision and didn’t allow worry to overtake the journey. Her success came from living in the present moment, while keeping a clear intention for the end result.

Above the line thinking is a cornerstone of Clarity International’s process. Words are powerful and carry an energetic presence, which is why we bring them to your attention during Clarity workshops. When clients use above the line vocabulary, they incorporate a different energetic charge into their personal field and make an intended statement about whom they are and where they’re going. Simply by using a higher megahertz in their wording, they make a brighter and stronger statement. Without even looking at the Clarity Attention Guide, we can generally tell when a word is positive or negative. But how do Gary and Cathy find the individual megahertz of each word? The answer can be found in applied kinesiology or muscle testing.
All matter is composed of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Muscle testing finds which of these energetic vibrations complement an individual’s body (compatible) and which vibrations work against optimal body functioning (not compatible). All earthly things can be tested including foods, materials, songs, and even words. Cathy Hawk spent two years applying kinesiology to all the various words printed in the Clarity Attention Guide. So when you see frequency numbers next to the lines, know that Cathy personally measured each of these words for their charge.
