Every journey is best guided by having a clear vision for what you want to create. In our work we meet people who have reached a stage of success in their life and are looking for a new vision, a new passion. Others have a vision they are passionate about and yet somehow seem to lose focus on making it happen. And, there are others who feel like they don’t have a clue what they want.
Developing a vision for your life doesn’t have to be complicated. It is merely imagining the ideal work and the ideal life you want. It does require taking time for self reflection and contemplation. What lights you up? What relationships energize you? If you could design you ideal day (and we believe you can) what would you be doing from the time you awaken until you sleep?
Start dreaming. To create a vision for your life that is driven by passionate energy, you have to exercise your right brain. Dreaming works from the right hemisphere. While the left brain is linear in processing information, the right brain is holistic. It sees the big picture; the left brain handles the details. The right brain is visual, dealing in images. Its mode of knowing is intuitive, while the logical left brain sticks to the facts. Allowing yourself to dream, to imagine, and to be fully open to your intuition gives your right brain full rein to do its work.
A clear vision of any aspect of our lives is nothing more than a collection of what we call lights-on clues of what energizes us. Begin to pay attention to all of the lights-on thoughts, activities and relationships that appear. Keep a list of these clues and they will begin to form a clear vision for all aspects of your life. These clues are like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that when assembled help us form the bigger, more expansive picture of our vision.
So, dream big and let your most expansive vision guide you.

We sometimes conclude our presentations and workshops with a summary that plays on our name – Clarity. To live an energetic life of passion and purpose and peak experiences requires bringing CLARITY into your daily life.
C – Clear Vision – Every journey is best guided by having an enlivening vision for what you want to create.
L – Live Lights-On – It’s critical that you are always aware of your energy and do whatever is needed to shift your focus and behaviors to having lights- on energy in all that you do.
A – Aligned Action – Focus every day on taking aligned, lights-on action steps toward your vision. Remain conscious to avoid doing busy work that drains your energy.
R – River Map/River Guide – Your journey is best served if you follow a map or a guide to help you negotiate the difficult places, avoid the dangers, keep you pointed in the right direction and in the flow.
I – Intention – To manifest the life you want or to create any experience you want requires that you set your clear intention before you begin.
T – Thoughts – Your thoughts create your reality; when you stay aware of and shift your thoughts effectively you create the life you want.
Y – Yes – Say yes to living a full vibrant life; say yes to the field of all possibilities; give yourself permission to live every day with vitality, purpose and passion.
We will explore each of these over the coming blogs and we invite your input and your comments.

As the Super Bowl approaches, it can hold different importance to the many people involved. It holds value for those hedging bets as well as for those simply rooting on their favorite team. As the game comes to a close and one team is clearly at a disadvantage, spectators offer all sorts of helpful advice to get that losing team back in action. What is the best game changing advice? However the Super Bowl turns out and whether the game changer works is yet to be seen. At Clarity, we specialize in game changing advice as well. A large and helpful tool in the Clarity process is the mantra. Words are powerful and can change the way we see, think about, and approach situations.
The mantra helps us refocus and regenerate even if the words don’t quite have our attitude’s full support when we begin saying it. By shifting the mind’s approach towards a situation or problem, a newer and more productive outcome can emerge. The mantra holds a special place in this ability.
A well-formed mantra includes the following:
- Name of Helper – This is called an invocation and asks those spiritual touchstones to help out. Whatever ethereal guidance you turn to in times of need are the same for the mantra. Animal Guides? Angels? Deceased relatives? Say their names first as if you talking directly to them.
- Positive Statement – Whatever outcome you desire in the affirmative form comes next. Do not focus on what you don’t want, state and therefore bring in what you DO want.
- Certainty in Closure – End the mantra with certainty and knowingness that it will come to pass. “So It Is.” Or “Amen.”
Repeat this mantra as many times a day you feel may be helpful. Root for yourself in your own personal Super Bowl and feel the power of the cheering section supporting you.

In our newest booklet entitled, Shift, a companion the popular 2011 book Get Clarity The Lights-On Guide to Manifesting Success in Life and Work, we guide readers through an above-the-line course that encourages and supports positive thinking as their main operational mode. Shift gets into the scientific specifics behind the vibrational power of words.
The Human Operating System, or HOS, functions through a feedback cycle of thought that transmits to feeling, sensation, and reality. Shift aims to help each reader become master programmers of their own HOS system. Every word contains a level of megahertz that either supports a lights-on life or drains and distracts from living in passion. You can master the tools and mechanisms behind staying lights-on by using Shift in tandem with Get Clarity The Lights-On Guide to Manifesting Success in Life and Work.
Because our thoughts extend beyond us into thought fields, harnessing the power of these thoughts is paramount. Even in the face of adversity and negativity coming at us from both the distant field and the near field, we can hold our ground and keep our own feedback loop above-the-line.
Stay tuned to our website www.getclarity.com for more information on Shift.

The holidays are now a few days past. Did you feel the magic tingle? We can define the magic of the season in many ways. Children define it by presents received, retailers defines it by net profits, adults may define it by how many days off work they get, and many have decided snow fall is their way to experiencing magic. At Clarity we know magic comes from our intentions solidified on a vision board and amplified through above the line surfing. As we bring in the New Year to wrap up and finalize 2011 festivities, let’s come back to center and remind ourselves how this magic can remain with us well into 2012.
Believe There’s a reason this word is used so much during the holiday season. The ability to believe is a practiced and honed talent. The more you do it, the better you get at it. Believe with all the gusto you can muster then watch as the world opens up for you.
Find Certainty This is an offshoot of believing. Certainty puts you in a position of authority over your destiny. The destiny you have designed and planned. Certainty says, “I know it,” and provides a powerful shift mentally, intellectually, emotionally, and professionally.
Surround Yourself with Support This is where co-creators come in so nicely. People who believe in you and support your vision are worthwhile to keep close. Your intentions become magnified when others share the vision with you. Business coaches, networking groups, close friends, family, and neighbors as well as those you happen upon the coffee shop are all strategically placed so that you may feel the camaraderie.
Gratitude for Others’ Good Fortunes Whenever Ben saw a Mercedes Benz on the road with him, he thought to himself, “I’m so happy for you!” Being in a state of gratitude even on behalf of others speeds up your very own process and allows synchronicity to bring its own brand of magic. Ben knew this, so whenever he saw his dream car on the street, he felt the gratitude and invited in his own Mercedes.
Holiday magic sure does feel good as it permeates the landscape and infiltrates most of our daily lives. The good-times-high can last throughout the year. Just remember, you create it with a mere setting of intention.

Finding support and strategically placed people to energize your endeavors is easy when you’re aligned with lights-on principles and above the line attitudes. Yet, it’s still comforting to have some guidelines when looking around for co-creators. The following is a check-list of attributes and attitudes you’ll want to be open for in other people.
Energized Presence When you’re around a helpful co-creator, you’ll feel energized and creative. These people help maintain your vision and outlook while supporting your journey.
Inquisitive Helpful co-creators ask authentic questions to get you progressively moving towards your next business move. They thoughtfully ponder and get you thinking critically and creatively about your goals. They truly care enough to have a conversation with you and it’s obvious they’re listening.
Supportive Atmosphere Networking groups are filled with these people. Betsy Weirsma runs Camp Experience, a network that fosters exceptional support to a wide variety of business women. The give-&-take should look balanced and feel grounded as you invite in co-creators.

The last step in the check-in helps you focus your day and ultimately create the business and life you strive for. Setting a daily intention is powerful and as with all repetitive habits, enforces manifestation of the future you design.
Intention statements can begin with “I intend to….” and include mini-steps and bridge plans towards your end goal. Not only do these statements refocus and remind you where you’re going, they can help bring awareness of improvements, items you’d like to work on, talents to build upon. Look over the list below to begin inspiration, then tailor your daily intentions towards yourself and your business.
- “Today I intend to directly communicate with Sarah my goals for this project.”
- “My intention today is to have fun and find amusement while I make cold calls.”
- “Today will find me completing my business plan with a smile on my face.”
- “I intend to organize and de-clutter my paperwork.”
- “I will start this day with three good ideas to present to my client.”
- “This day I intend to be relaxed as I give my presentation and exude confidence as I answer questions.”
- “My intention this day is to earn $300 and know my services are valuable.”

Thanksgiving is a couple weeks behind us, but the spirit of gratitude rides on through the holidays. For those who check-in daily, being grateful lasts all year long. In our blog series on the check-in process, we look at gratitude.
Clarity frequently reminds clients of a very simple statement, “Energy attracts like energy. So, in your thoughts, words, and actions, be very clear about what you want to attract into your life.” Being grateful everyday keeps you in that vibration you wish to attract. Finding reasons to be thankful everyday brings your vision into focus more quickly and clearly. Intention is everything in our process. Set your intention to be grateful and stay above the line in thoughts, words, and deeds.

Honing self-awareness is what this step in the check-in process is all about. You are mind, body, and spirit – all different distinctions and all looking for separate assessment. So often we allow one of these parts to speak for all. In reality, they function on different levels and each have their own purpose. Yes, they do influence each other, but that’s the point of this question – differentiating influence from ownership and recognizing the source.
Rayla began her first daily check-in process in a fog. “I was really confused when I got to this question in the check-in protocol,” she says, “I thought they were all one and all interrelated.” Observing mind, body, and spirit as different considerations, Rayla soon realized the medication she was on caused much of the fog. “For a year I lived as though my body were weak, my spirit was hibernating, and my mind was dull,” she continues, “then I realized this medication is where it all started.” Rayla did some research and found alternative options for her medication. After lowering the dosage gradually, she eventually stopped altogether. Checking-in with each individual part of her being opened up the communication and understanding.
Now when she does the check-in, “I have an individual talk with mind, body, then spirit.” Rayla realized the medication affected her mind and influenced her body, but in reality, her body was in great shape. Taking the time to separate and consider mind, body, and spirit as different aspects help Rayla better assess the situation affecting all parts of her.

After tuning in to what is different, change the focus to nonjudgmental evaluation. The Clarity check-in process asks, “What worked and what didn’t work?” This question helps focus on your accomplishments with an eye towards discernment. It assists with self-reflection.
Focusing only on facts, this step asks for an honest evaluation of your performance. Giving equal attention to both sides of the effectiveness coin permits a more balanced and informed evaluation. In other words, celebrate what worked well, but don’t dwell on what didn’t work. Name them both, then take away the information that will help you be more effective in your business. Celebrate your initiative and ability to honestly look and reflect. Now you know and now you can continue down the river.
By asking what worked and what didn’t, you place awareness on effectiveness. Stay curious and look for information that will make your business practices run more smoothly.
